Two soldiers. Two guns aimed. Two men ready to kill each other. And just one question: why? Wars are often decided by people who know each other, who stand opposed to one another and consider each other enemies, but who are unlikely to ever come face to face on a battlefield. Instead, the ones fighting them are men and women who, in most cases, have never met, have nothing personal against one another, and perhaps, under different circumstances, might even have been friends. Yet they shoot at each other, wound each other, and die. Because of decisions made elsewhere, because of borders they didn’t draw, because of interests they don’t always understand or share. This T-shirt does not claim to explain the complexity of wars, nor does it ignore the fact that sometimes fighting means defending one’s freedom and one’s life. It simply aims to bring the discussion back to its most human dimension. Behind every uniform there is a person. A family. A story. A life that could have taken a different path. Because those who decide on a war often do not fight it, while those who fight it pay the highest price.
