Freedom of opinion is one of the pillars of democracy. At least on paper. We celebrate it in speeches, defend it in principle, and invoke it when it suits us. But what happens when someone expresses an opinion we don’t share? When a voice breaks from the chorus, disrupts the consensus, or challenges those in power? This T-shirt is a deliberately political provocation, without flags or affiliations. It’s an invitation to reflect on the risk that, in a climate of growing polarization, conflict, and mutual hostility, dissent is increasingly perceived as a threat rather than as an essential component of democracy. Because defending freedom of expression doesn’t just mean protecting the opinions we like. It also means accepting those that unsettle us, without for that reason giving up on debate, criticism, or accountability for our own words. Democracy is not only in danger when someone forbids us from speaking. It is also in danger when we stop wanting to listen.
