Question the Obvious<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

THINK is ReflectionChic\u2019s most free-spirited space. And I\u2019d like it to stay that way. It\u2019s not a daily column; it doesn\u2019t have an editorial calendar; and it doesn\u2019t necessarily have to have something intelligent to say every Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. THINK comes to life when there\u2019s something worth pausing to consider. It could be a social issue, a news story, a political contradiction, or a collective behavior. Or technology, war, money, education, relationships, power, freedom, artificial intelligence. And perhaps something seemingly insignificant that, upon closer inspection, isn\u2019t so insignificant after all.
The scope is deliberately broad. Curiosity, fortunately, has a hard time fitting neatly into categories.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

No Party. No God. No Manual.<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

THINK strives to be nonpartisan and agnostic. That doesn\u2019t mean not having opinions. That would be rather suspicious. It means not setting out with the goal of defending a cause, a political party, a religion, an ideology, or one of the many \u201cteams\u201d into which we like to divide ourselves. I prefer to look at an issue from different perspectives, ask questions, and keep even the most uncomfortable possibility open: changing my mind. The goal isn\u2019t to reach the end and declare, \u201cThis is the truth.\u201d
I prefer to ask, \u201cAre we sure it\u2019s that simple?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Bring antoher Point of View<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

THINK isn\u2019t meant to be a place where I write down my thoughts and wait for people to tell me how right I am or how unqualified I am to discuss a topic. There are already plenty of places for that. Every reflection inevitably starts from a particular point of view, but it doesn\u2019t necessarily have to end there. You may agree. You may disagree. You may see something I haven\u2019t seen. Even better. Dialogue isn\u2019t about deciding who won. It\u2019s about, ideally, understanding something we hadn\u2019t understood before. And if a belief doesn\u2019t survive an encounter with a different idea? So be it. Maybe we\u2019ve learned something. In a world full of teams, here we leave a few chairs empty at the table.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
